Pelvic mass may be due to:
Urinary retention - Repair of recurrent prolapse.
Pelvic Abscess.
Ectopic pregnancy.
Diagnosis
A pelvic mass is found during a routine pelvic exam. When a pelvic mass is detected some of the following investigations are carried out. These investigations are important to make decisions about future treatment. These include:
Pelvic scan: (Carried out by Mr Pakarian).
Laparoscopy: A surgical procedure that allows a doctor to look directly inside the body.
Blood tests (CA125).
Treatment
This depends on the clinical and ultrasound findings.
