Pelvic Ultrasound Scans
Assessment of the ovaries and uterus
A pelvic ultrasound is used to assess the female reproductive organs in detail. Mr Pakarian uses pelvic scanning to evaluate the uterus and ovaries, helping to identify and monitor a wide range of gynaecological conditions.
This scan is used for
- Ovarian cysts and masses
- Uterine fibroids
- Endometriosis and adenomyosis
- Polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS)
- Abnormal uterine bleeding
- Pelvic pain assessment
- Monitoring of known gynaecological conditions
Pelvic scans may be performed transabdominally (over the abdomen) or transvaginally (internally) depending on clinical need. Mr Pakarian will discuss the most appropriate approach with you at your consultation.
Pregnancy Ultrasound Scans
Dating and fetal viability
Mr Pakarian offers early pregnancy ultrasound scanning to confirm and date a pregnancy, assess fetal viability, and provide reassurance in the first trimester. These scans are particularly valuable for patients with concerns in early pregnancy.
This scan is used for
- Confirmation of intrauterine pregnancy
- Accurate pregnancy dating
- Assessment of fetal viability (heartbeat)
- Early reassurance scan (6–10 weeks)
- Multiple pregnancy identification
- Assessment of early pregnancy complications
- Evaluation of pregnancy-related pelvic pain or bleeding
Early pregnancy scans are typically performed transvaginally for the clearest image in the first trimester. Mr Pakarian will explain the procedure fully before it takes place.
